01Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains the choices and practices that govern information processed when you install and use Magma Gems, a free application distributed for the Android platform and operated by FOOTBALL TRIP (referred to here as "we", "us", or "our").

Magma Gems is a geology and local-history field companion: it lets you explore terrain through an interactive heat map, record mineral and crystal finds, keep a field journal, and receive contextual hints about the rock types likely to occur at a given location. None of that activity requires us to build a profile of you across other apps or websites.

We encourage you to read this document before you begin exploring. Continuing to use the application indicates that you accept the practices described below. If you disagree with them, the simplest option is to discontinue use and uninstall the app.

03Information We Collect

Our design follows the GDPR principle of data minimisation: we process only the small amount of technical information needed to keep the application running, stable, and understandable in your language. In practice this may include:

  • Device model and type, together with the version of the Android operating system in use;
  • The version of the Magma Gems application you have installed;
  • Your chosen interface language and related display preferences;
  • Anonymised diagnostic records, such as crash reports and coarse operational logs, generated while the app runs.

No tracking We do not deploy analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, fingerprinting techniques, or cross-app and cross-site tracking technologies. We do not build behavioural profiles of users, and we do not serve interest-based advertising based on activity observed in other companies' applications or websites.

We do not gather or store your precise location. The heat map and geological hints in Magma Gems are delivered without our collecting GPS coordinates or continuous positional data from your device.

We never sell personal data. We do not use the limited information described above for cross-context behavioural advertising, and no feature of the application currently requires such use.

04How We Use Information

The limited technical information we process serves a narrow set of purposes:

  • Delivering, operating, and maintaining the application so that it functions correctly on your device;
  • Replying to your support enquiries and communicating with you about issues you raise;
  • Watching for misuse, diagnosing faults, and improving reliability and performance;
  • Meeting legal duties and the requirements set by the distribution platform.

We do not repurpose this information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose incompatible with the reasons listed here.

05Sharing of Information

We may engage outside companies or individuals to help us run the service — for example, to host infrastructure, provide the service on our behalf, carry out service-related tasks, or assist us in understanding how the application is used. Such parties receive access to information only to the extent required to perform those tasks, and they are bound not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

We may also disclose information where the law compels it, where a court order requires it, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of FOOTBALL TRIP, our users, or the general public.

At the time of publication, Magma Gems integrates no third-party services, advertising networks, or analytics providers.

06Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed to accomplish the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Where a longer period is demanded or allowed by applicable law, we will retain the information for that period and then delete or anonymise it.

Because the information we handle is largely technical and diagnostic, most of it is discarded or aggregated once its operational purpose has been served.

07Security

We apply administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards that are commercially reasonable and appropriate to the sensitivity of the information involved, with the aim of protecting it against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access.

No transmission over the Internet and no method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be entirely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot promise absolute security, and you should take that residual risk into account when using any connected application.

08Children's Privacy

Magma Gems is not intended for anyone below the age of 16, which is the age of digital consent applied by this policy. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16.

If you believe that a child has supplied us with personal data, please write to [email protected] and we will delete the information without undue delay.

10Google Play Disclosure

Magma Gems is distributed through Google Play. Our data practices are designed to align with the Google Play Developer Program Policies and the Google Play User Data Policy, including transparent disclosure of what data is collected, how it is used, and whether it is shared.

If our practices ever change in a way that affects those disclosures, we will update this policy and the corresponding Play Store listing before the change takes effect.

11Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will publish the updated version on this page and revise the effective date shown at the top of the document.

We encourage you to revisit this page periodically so that you remain aware of the practices currently in force. Continued use of the application after an update takes effect indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
